ANNA MARIE D'AMBROSIO is well-known throughout the Fairfeld County area primarily for her soprano oratorio soloist work and occasional operatic appearances. These include: Requiem (Archer, Faure, Rutter), Messiah, (Handel), Magnificat, Gloria (Vivaldi), Lord Nelson Mass, Paukenmesse (Haydn), Mass in G (Schubert), St. Cecilia Mass (Gounod), Exsultate Jubilate (Mozart), Elijah (Mendelssohn), Rejoice in the Lamb (Britten) and in Ascension Music's chorus for the AGO Centennial Concert of Te Deum (Berlioz) in NYC. She can be heard on the educational audio book, Tune In, by M. Meachem and she has sung for Opera New England's Intro to Opera Program (Hansel and Gretel) in Fairfeld County and Long Island schools. Ms. D'Ambrosio has appeared in the Courtyard Concert Series, Riverside, CT, More Music Concerts, Darien, CT, Candlelight Series, Old Greenwich, CT, the St. Cecilia's Series, Stamford, CT, the Courtyard Concert Series, New Canaan, CT, and in recitals in Cape Cod as well as in the benefit concerts for Stamford's New Covenant House. Premiere roles have included the Innkeeper's Wife in Welcome, Jesus! (Rye, NY). As singer and dancer, Ms. D'Ambrosio performed for 15 years in the NYC area with the Italian folklore group, "Coro d'Italia". She has been a soprano soloist at St. John's Episcopal Church, Stamford, and cantor at St. Thomas More Church in Darien, CT for many years. A voice and piano teacher at her home studio in Norwalk, CT, she holds a B.S. in Music Education from Western CT State University, studied at Aspen Music School & Goldovsky Opera Workshops, received scholarships for studies in Siena, Italy, and Munich, Germany (with Elly Ameling and Rudolf Jansen) and studied with Martin Lies in NYC. |
